Hello potential coworkers!
This is evolving document, just so potential members know what they are getting into, before requesting to join.
What is MMM HQ?
It’s a community space run by and for US, the members. The goal is to get some work done on our personal projects, but also to help each other, and hopefully the greater Longmont community and the world by putting our brainpower together.
What is it NOT?
It’s not a formal retail space or a traditional coworking business where you are the customer and I’m the vendor. Although I will be funding the building and its maintenance, I’m hoping we can all chip in time when we’re around to keep the place tidy, empty the trash bins when they need it, bring ideas and spare materials and lend spare tools, etc. Sharing with the other members is what will really make this place fly!
Because of my retired family man life, I try to avoid specific commitments and obligations. So I won’t have fixed working hours and I may not be able to address every issue immediately. But as subscribed members, you’ll have access to the building even when I’m not there.
With that disclaimer aside, hard work is my favorite thing to do, so I think it should go well.
The dues are $50 per month, per member, net of any transaction fees. You can pay a full year in advance by check, or you can pay by automatic deduction via Paypal, which works out to $156 per quarter ($52/month) with transaction fees.
The key is that it needs to be automatic – I can’t be tracking down multiple people to submit checks each month or even quarterly. But you can definitely lock in a full year with a single $600 check (bonus points if you do this!)
Either one of us can cancel the agreement at any time and I’ll refund any unused balance if you like. But to make room for truly interested people and build up a strong group community, I ask that you only join if you’re fairly committed to staying a full year. Just the honor system here – no contracts of course!
Disclaimer and Release of Liability:
By using MMM HQ facilities and anything within, you assume sole personal responsibility for your own safety. If you drink too much from the keg and hurt yourself, or lightning strikes the building, or you hurt yourself at home with a piece of borrowed equipment, or heck, even if you fall off the roof or the roof caves in on all of us, you agree not to sue me or any other member, ever. We’re all adults here and we are working together in a trusting relationship. If you don’t agree, the simple answer is not to become a member!
